QUEZON CITY, (PIA) — The country is now paving the way for safer roads with the launching of the Road Safety Interactive Center (RSIC) of the Land Transportation Office (LTO).
The RSIC is a state-of-the-art educational facility that teaches essential road safety skills through various interactive stations including driving simulators for two and four-wheeled vehicles and trivia games about important road warning signages as well as traffic regulations.
It also has a life-sized road accident diorama and a 4D mini theater that displays informative video materials focusing on child safety in motor vehicles, teen and older driver safety, pedestrian safety, and theft prevention in public utility vehicles.
Department of Transportation Secretary (DOTr) Jaime J. Bautista regarded this initiative as a means of honing responsible road users through modern technology which, on the other hand, supports the digitalization efforts of the national government.
“Road safety is very important. We have been stressing the need to ensure the safety of everyone—from motorists, pedestrians and children—on Philippine roads. This interactive facility will provide a certain feel for our visitors here,” said Bautista.

In line with this, LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Atty. Vigor D. Mendoza II is encouraging all elementary and high school authorities to have their students visit the RSIC during educational tours as they form part of the next generation of motorists.
“It is important that at their young age, they are already being introduced to this kind of facility that focuses on road safety,” Mendoza stressed.
“So we encourage school authorities to consider visiting our Road Safety Interactive Center for their students. Road safety is an integral part of our lives so it is really important that we start introducing our children to this as early as possible,” he added.
The RSIC is located in LTO Central Office in Quezon City.
It is suitable for all ages and has been open to public since December 18, 2023.
Meanwhile, the LTO is currently facilitating the creation of a special committee that will oversee the appointment schedule of schools that are interested in doing an educational tour in the RSIC. (JMP/PIA-NCR)
