CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro (PIA) – The Land Transportation Office (LTO) Mimaropa region conducted, May 4, a free theoretical driving course for more than 250 interested individuals who wanted to possess or own a driver’s license in the town of Baco.
The activity is part of President Bongbong Marcos’ “Handog Pasasalamat” to the Filipinos with the theme “Joint Activity for Management of Traffic,” a road safety program promotion of the LTO, in partnership with the local government led by Mayor Allan A. Roldan and LTO Acting Regional Director Manuel L. Betaizar.
The theoretical driving course primarily aims to give student drivers a better understanding of how to keep the roads safe, develop a better driving attitude, a more technical understanding of road signages, and develop a clearer driver intuition.
Likewise, student drivers were taught effective driving with proper maneuvering, different parking skills, techniques and tips on how to save fuel, and the correct way of checking the safety of a vehicle.
Roldan expressed his support and thankfulness to the management of LTO for providing his constituents an opportunity to acquire a student driver’s permit, which is an official document that authorizes the bearer to operate a motor vehicle under the guidance of a professional or non-professional license holder in the country.
He said the holding of a free seminar in their town was an advantage for future drivers as they may have shown proof that they have undergone the proper training and that they also know how to drive a vehicle. (LTC/PIA Mimaropa-OrMin)
