CEBU CITY, Cebu (PIA) — The Land Transportation Office (LTO) Region 7 has announced that there are no backlogs with the 0701 plate numbers in the region and the license printing.
“As far as backlogs are concerned, as of this day, wala na ta, zero na atong backlog. Although naa pa ta’y nabilin didto, but that is for pick-up,” said LTO7 regional director Glen Galario during the second episode of the Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas.
(As far as backlogs are concerned, as of this day, we have none. Our backlog is zero. Although we still have some left, those are for pick-up.)
Galario disclosed that from June 2023 to May 31, 2024, LTO7 had already released 0701 plates to 200,739 motor vehicles and 287,502 for motorcycles.
There are also 41,146 unreleased 0701 plates for motor vehicles and 300,121 motorcycles.
The releasing system of the plate numbers will be through the dealers or its liaison officers.
Galario is urging the dealers to claim their plate numbers to turn over to the motor owners.
“We are encouraging dealers to have their plate numbers picked up na kay ang among system, strategy, is ang distribution or release to the owner sa plate number, amo nang gi-direct or assign na sa mga dealers. In other words, kadtong nabilin karon na for pick up, kuhaon na sa mga dealers, ang dealers na mismo magtagsa-tagsa na mag-distribute sa mga owners,” Galario said.
(We are encouraging dealers to have their plate numbers picked up because our strategy is the distribution or release to the owner of the plate number, which has been directed or assigned to the dealers. In other words, those who are left now for pick up will be claimed by the dealers, and the dealers themselves will individually distribute to the owners.)
He said dealers may also visit their office and arrange requests to have the plates be delivered.
Plates distribution areas are in SM Seaside Cebu and Talisay City Plate Storage.
