KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato (PIA) – The Land Transportation Office (LTO) in Region 12 has welcomed the approval for the establishment of a new LTO district office in Kalamansig, Sultan Kudarat, following the signing of Republic Act No. 12165 by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.
The provincial government of Sultan Kudarat also expressed its gratitude to the national government for approving the new district office, conveying its full support.
LTO Regional Director Melharrieh Tomawis praised the initiative, calling it a significant milestone that would bring government services much closer to the residents of the coastal towns in Sultan Kudarat.
“This is a major milestone for the people of Kalamansig and the entire coastal area of Sultan Kudarat. With this new district office, we can finally deliver faster, more convenient, and more responsive LTO services to our constituents who used to travel hours just to process their documents,” Tomawis said.
According to him, the new office will eliminate the need for residents to travel to Tacurong City, Cotabato City, or General Santos City just to avail themselves of essential LTO services such as vehicle registration and driver’s licensing.
“This is part of the Marcos administration’s broader effort to improve access to frontline government services, particularly in underserved and geographically isolated areas,” Tomawis added.
Tomawis stated that the LTO in the region will continue to work closely with local government units to ensure the smooth and prompt establishment of the new district office. (ORVR, PIA Region 12)
