SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union — The La Union Police Provincial Office (LUPPO) recognized its personnel and units of the police force in an awarding ceremony held on Tuesday, November 28 at the La Union Convention Center in this city in celebration of the 122nd Police Service Anniversary.
PBGen Lou Evangelista, acting regional director of the Police Regional Office 1 (PRO-1), graced the event to show his support for the invaluable service given by the law enforcers for the province.
In his message, Evangelista emphasized the importance of unity and efforts between the police force and the community in maintaining safety and security.
“Sa aking pamumuno bilang bagong regional director, ating ipagpapatuloy ang nasimulan at nadatnang maayos at mapayapang probinsya ng La Union maging ang buong rehiyon. Ating ipagpapatuloy ang maayos na samahan at pagtutulungan ng kapulisan at ng mamamayan,” said Evangelista.

The awarding ceremony dubbed “Nagkakaisang Pulisya at Pamayanan tungo sa Mapayapa at Maunlad na Bansa” recognized the outstanding performance and achievements of police units and personnel in the province and the Ilocos Region for the betterment of their communities and the enhancement of police service.
The highlight of the event was the presentation of awards to three police units and 13 personnel in recognition of their distinct accomplishments in providing quality police service to the public.
Individual awardees are: PCPT Precy Tangalin of Bacnotan Municipal Police Station, PSSg Haydee Gaudia of San Fernando City Police Station, PSSg Analiza Dela Rosa of Rosario Police Station, PLTCOL Anthony Otinguey of Provincial Plans and Programs Unit, PCMS Melody Lopez of Provincial Administrative and Resource Management Unit, Aldrin Mar Alapitan of Bacnotan Municipal Police Station, PSSg Robert Oligo of Provincial Administrative and Resource Management Unit, PSSg Roel Manangan of Luna Municipal Police Station, PSSg Daisy Rose Aragon of Luna Municipal Police Station, PSSg Edward Estira of Provincial Operations and Management Unit, PCPL Serna Placheta of 2nd La Union Police Mobile Force Corps, NUP Abegail Zabala of Provincial Investigation and Detective Management Unit, and PSSg Ariel De Sesto of Provincial Plans and Programs Unit.
The three police units awarded were Naguilian Municipal Police Station, Santo Tomas Municipal Police Station, and 1st La Union Police Mobile Force Corps.
Two utility workers namely, Rodolfo Sarmiento and Jaime Marzo were also recognized for their dedication and hard work.
In his message, PCol Lambert Suerte, provincial director of the LUPPO, said that with the positive gains the La Union police has achieved in its campaign for peace and order in the past few years, they indeed have reasons to celebrate.
“Today, let us make the 122nd Police Service Anniversary celebration even more meaningful by reaffirming our commitment to our police ideals, service, honor, and justice and by assuring our countrymen of better law enforcement and police service,” he added.
At the event, Suerte thanked the men and women of LUPPO for their unwavering support in his headship as provincial director.
