ROXAS CITY, Capiz (PIA) — The Metro Roxas Water District (MRWD) in Roxas City got the citation from the Local Water Utilities Administration for its outstanding Water Safety Plan during a recently concluded recognition ceremony in Tagaytay City.
“MRWD placed 7th among hundreds of water districts during the Water Safety Plan Recognition Ceremony,” said a front-page article of the water district’s official publication “Tubi Newsletter” in its April to June 2024 copy.
The gathering and awarding, sponsored by the World Health Organization and hosted by the LWUA, was in honor of the extraordinary efforts and outstanding performances of Local Water Districts in guaranteeing the delivery of a safe and sufficient water supply to their covered service area.
MRWD general manager lawyer Dante A. Arcangeles, MRWD Board chair lawyer Leodegario B. Dadivas, Jr. and WSP Technical Committee head Francis C. Jocson received the recognition.
The MRWD WSP is an outcome of collaborative efforts to create an integral risk management strategy that safeguards public health through the provision of safe drinking water to residences, businesses and other establishments.
It is in line with the MRWD’s commitment to provide the community with a sustainable supply of affordable yet safe drinking water as stipulated in its mission statement.
Alongside the water quality assurance, Arcangeles also guaranteed the water utility’s capacity to supply the needed water amid the potential influx of businesses and industrial establishments as the city continues with its development growth during a dialogue with some Roxas City councilors.
The MRWD is gearing up for more improvement and expansion projects for the long-term water sustainability in Roxas City as well as its service areas in the neighboring municipalities, he said. (AGP/AAL/PIA Capiz)
