QUEZON CITY, (PIA) — The Makati Search and Rescue (SAR) team is actively engaged in ongoing rescue operations in the Bicol region, with 149 individuals successfully rescued from the municipalities of Milaor and Gainza since Sunday.
In a separate effort, the Makati City government, led by Mayor Abby Binay, has been providing assistance to evacuees in Talisay, Batangas, sending 899 food packs and 1,000 water bottles to those affected by the recent disaster.

Mayor Abby Binay underscored the spirit of Bayanihan, especially in times of disasters and calamities.
“Makati stands in solidarity with our kababayans in the Bicol Region. We are always ready to help other localities in every way possible in times of disaster,” Binay said.
Aside from the Bicol region, the city government also sent provided food packs and water bottles for evacuees of Talisay in Batangas.

To further support relief efforts, a Mobile Kitchen has been deployed to Cuenca. City personnel are preparing hot meals for the affected community, with plans to serve three meals for 100 people initially. The team will also train local personnel on how to operate the Mobile Kitchen for ongoing support.
Mayor Binay emphasized the city’s commitment to assist those in need, particularly during emergencies. “Makati is always ready to help those who require assistance, especially in times of disaster,” she stated.
