MANILA, (PIA) — The Malabon City local government, led by Mayor Jeannie Sandoval, celebrated the spirit of “Bayanihan” Thursday evening, December 5, with the “Paskong Malabueño 2024” Christmas Tree and Parol Lighting Ceremony.
“This marks the start of our Christmas celebrations this year. We want to showcase the unity and bayanihan of Malabueños, which we have demonstrated during challenging times,” Sandoval said during the ceremony, the event aimed to promote unity among residents as the holiday season begins.

Mayor Jeannie emphasized the importance of collaboration for the city’s continued development.
The highlight of the evening was the lighting of a 40-foot giant Christmas tree, symbolizing the holiday spirit.
The ceremony featured performances by notable figures, including the “King of Filipino Christmas Carols” Jose Marie Chan and actor Gab Lagman, alongside various cultural groups.
In addition to the festivities, the local government recognized the winners of the “Paskong Malabueño: Christmas Community Decorating Contest.” Participants from 21 barangays showcased decorations made from recyclable materials, promoting teamwork and community spirit.
The event also included the inauguration of new emergency vehicles, including three ambulances equipped with medical supplies, enhancing the city’s health services. A fireworks display capped off the night, bringing joy to attendees, who also had the chance to win prizes in a raffle.
