MANILA, (PIA) — The City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) of Malabon City has effectively cleared the streets of debris following Tropical Storm Enteng. This cleanup response comes after mounting public concerns and complaints regarding waste accumulation in various neighborhoods.
Despite social media allegations suggesting widespread garbage and unpleasant odors, CENRO acted swiftly to tackle the issue. Cleanup teams were deployed immediately to restore cleanliness, focusing on major roads and public spaces. “We hear the concerns of our residents, and we’ve acted quickly to resolve the issue. Our teams have worked tirelessly to clean up after.. Enteng,” said CENRO Head Engr. Maria Santos.
Mayor Jeannie Sandoval praised the CENRO team for their dedication. “Congratulations to CENRO for their dedication and quick response in ensuring that our streets are clean and safe again,” she said.
(This is the kind of service we pride ourselves on—prompt, timely, and conscientious. Thanks to everyone who helped with the cleanup operation.)
In her remarks, Mayor Sandoval urged Malabueños to take responsibility for their waste management.
(People of Malabon, let’s continue to support cleanliness in our city. I encourage all of you to dispose of waste properly and follow proper waste disposal practices. Let’s work together to keep our roads and communities clean.)
Addressing the spread of misinformation, she condemned those circulating fake news. Nandito kami para siguraduhing malinis at maayos ang ating Malabon,” she said.
(It is unfortunate that there are those who spread false news on social media. I just want to make it clear that we are not neglecting our city. Do not believe those who spread lies. We are here to make sure our Malabon is clean and tidy.)
This successful cleanup operation highlights Malabon City’s commitment to providing a healthier and cleaner environment for its residents. (JCO/PIA-NCR)
