MANILA, (PIA) — In a continued effort to improve public services, Malabon City Mayor Jeannie Sandoval and Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) Postmaster General Luis D. Carlos inaugurated the newly constructed City Post Office at the Malabon City Sports Center on F. Sevilla St. on Monday, October 7.
The Malabon City Post Office will provide a range of services, including the acceptance and delivery of mail and parcels, the sale of stamps and philatelic products, and the option to send electronic Postal Money Orders.
Residents can also purchase postcards and utilize other postal services, ensuring convenient access to mailing needs.
“I would like to thank Malabon City LGUs headed by our friend Mayor Jeannie Sandoval for allowing us to collaborate with the City Government for the opportunity to bring the Post Office services closer to the public,” said Postmaster General Carlos.
“I believe the Malabon City Post Office can do so much in bringing daily convenience to the lives of Filipinos through this partnership,” he added.
The opening ceremony was attended by key officials, including Assistant Postmaster General for Administration and Finance Atty. Lori Atal, Assistant Postmaster General for Operations Atty. Benjie Yotoko, and Mega Manila Area Director Olive Valderama, among others.
The new post office will operate Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., serving the community’s postal needs.
As part of its modernization program, PHLPost aims to expand its capabilities to leverage the growing e-commerce sector. This initiative will assist small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in rural areas—often underserved by private logistics providers—by providing access to new markets through online commerce.
Additionally, PHLPost is optimizing its mail and parcel delivery systems, enhancing efficiency and reliability through the “Postal Trinity.”
This includes the implementation of a modernized ZIP code system, the establishment of Barangay Postal Stations, and the introduction of the Kartero App, or K-App, to better meet the demands of its stakeholders. (JCO/PIA-NCR)
