ROXAS CITY, Capiz (PIA) – The Commission on Elections is preparing for the conduct of mall voting for the registered voters of Barangay 10 in Roxas City at the Robinsons Place in Pueblo de Panay here, in view of the May 2025 national and local elections.
This was conveyed by Roxas City Election Supervisor lawyer Rommel Benliro during a press conference on election updates and security preparations initiated by the Philippine Information Agency last Oct. 15 at the Capiz Police Provincial Office in Camp Teodorico Apil in Brgy. Lanot, Roxas City.
“Sa Robinsons Mall ang subject sang mall voting kag ang Barangay 10 ang ma participate sa mall voting because following the guidelines dapat ang halinon nga barangay sa isa ka mall is ang pinakamalapit nga barangay. At the same time ang isa ka gina consider naton nga ang Brgy. 10 naga share lang sila sang voting center sa Capiz National High School,” Benliro said.
(Our mall voting will be at the Robinsons Place and this will be for Barangay 10 registered voters because they are the nearest voters to the mall and are sharing a voting center at Capiz National High School.)
The barangay has 987 registered voters as of July 2024 but the figure may increase or lessen based on the Election Registration Board’s hearing to finalize the list.
Punong barangay Roberto Avelino of Brgy. 10, in a local radio interview, said that almost all of the village’s registered voters are favorable for the transfer of their clustered precinct to a mall for the upcoming polls during a consultation earlier this year.
He added that the barangay council was informed about the approved mall voting proposal last month. (AGP/AAL/PIA Capiz)
