This initiative is part of a broader effort to boost the town’s tourism through a new agreement with LandBank of the Philippines during the 169th Mambajao Town Fiesta celebration.
This exciting development marks a significant step forward in enhancing our local tourism landscape, providing both residents and visitors with a rejuvenated and sustainable wellness haven that showcases the beauty and potential of our municipality,” Mayor Yñigo Jesus Romualdo said.
(Here in Mambajao, when we say improve, we really mean making it look beautiful.)
He also shared that the newly designed Ardent Wellness Resort will feature a Balinese-inspired style, with hopes of matching its aesthetics with top-tier services. “Ako ra i-post dayon sa page or akong ipakita sa katawhan dayon ang atong bag-o nga plans for our Ardent Wellness Resort nga makaingon gyud ta nga pang-five star na gyud na siya nga hitsura,” Romualdo added.

(I will post on the page or show the public the new plans for our Ardent Wellness Resort that we can confidently say will have a five-star appearance.)
The project is particularly significant given the resort’s previous use as an isolation center during the COVID-19 pandemic and the damages it suffered during Typhoon Odette, which left some of its accommodations unusable.
While the swimming pool area has already reopened, drawing numerous visitors eager to return, Romualdo sees an opportunity to upgrade the entire facility to provide the best possible experience.
“Nagsugod na ta’g groundbreaking, and actually naa na ta’y gisugdan pud nga dormitory type nga building pud (We have already started the groundbreaking, and we have also begun constructing a dormitory-type building),” Romualdo said.
With the support of LandBank and the dedication of the local government, Mambajao’s vision of turning the Ardent Wellness Resort into a five-star, LGU-run facility is on track, positioning the town as a leading player in the tourism industry and offering a unique, high-quality experience for both locals and visitors.
