TORRIJOS, Marinduque (PIA) — In line with the celebration of the 123rd Anniversary of the Battle of Pulang Lupa, the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) through its provincial office handed over a hauling truck worth P3.5 million to the Maranlig CARP Beneficiaries Agriculture Cooperative (MACABACO).
Through the Agrarian Reform Fund (ARF), this initiative supports the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP), to enhance the cooperative’s capacity for agricultural activities and transportation.
The official turnover signifies a step forward for Macabaco, previously known as the Maranlig CARP Beneficiaries Association which was founded in 2020 and transitioned into a cooperative earlier this year.
Present in the activity were Macabaco representatives Federico Larracas, Emilio Quereza and other cooperative officers who expressed their gratitude for the valuable addition to their resources.
The turnover also occurred with the presence of OIC-Provincial Chief Administrative Officer Rafaela Orilla, OIC-Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program Officer of the Program Beneficiaries Development Division Ollie Davalos, Municipal Agrarian Reform Program Officer Anton Llanes together with the key officials from the local government of Torrijos headed by Acting Vice Mayor Joel Cruzado.
According to DAR, this contribution is expected to empower the cooperative and further boost their agricultural endeavors. (RAMJR/AMKDA/PIA MIMAROPA – Marinduque)
