Marawi women eager to start business with financial aid from BARMM solon

MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur (PIA)–Women here in the city who were among the 100 beneficiaries of the livelihood package assistance of Member of the Parliament (MP) Diamila Disimban-Ramos were very thrilled to open a small business that would provide them livelihood.

The Transitional Development Impact Fund (TDIF) of MP Ramos funded the P50,000 livelihood assistance for each of the 100 women.

Nasrimah Alimoden, from Barangay Bangon, was happy as she now has additional capital for her sari-sari store. She said this is a big help, especially since she has many children.

“Plano ko po ay idagdag po siya [financial assistance] doon sa sari-sari store ko po. And then if lumago po yun balak ko po sanang magdagdag ng beauty product kasi may mga tao rin po sa area namin. So balak ko po sanang dagdagan ng beauty product kasi yun rin po ang field ko kasi nakakarelate po ako doon,” she said.

(I plan to add it [financial assistance] to my sari-sari store. And if that grows, I plan to add beauty products because there are also people in our area. So I plan to add beauty products because that is also my field. I can relate to that.)

As an online seller of various products, Normin Tiburon from Barangay Raya Madaya II was also glad because she was among the 100 women beneficiaries. According to her, the financial assistance given to them by MP Ramos is a great aid as she can now offer more goods and products to her customers due to her additional capital.

“Online selling kasi ako so yun ang isa sa pinakamalaking mabuti na nagawa ng financial livelihood na bigay ni MP [Ramos] dahil pwede naming idagdag sa capital namin sa negosyo namin,” she said.

(I’m selling online. So that’s one of the biggest good things done by the financial livelihood provided by MP because we can add it to our business capital).

As the beneficiaries conveyed their gratitude to MP Ramos, they also hoped that her office would help more women like them who are in need. (JND/PIA-10/Lanao del Sur)
