Marcos administration focuses on nat’l dev’t despite declining public ratings

MANILA, (PIA) — Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin emphasized that true leadership is not measured by high approval ratings but by actions taken for the public good.

His remarks follow a recent Pulse Asia survey indicating a decline in the approval and trust ratings of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., conducted from November 26 to December 3.

Public interest is the sole driver behind every executive decision, not the pursuit of high ratings in the next opinion polls. High popularity ratings are a bonus, not the foundation of effective public service,” Bersamin said.

Despite the slight drop in ratings, the administration remains focused on improving the livelihoods of Filipinos and strengthening the national economy.

The Department of Finance reported a 5.8% economic growth in the first three quarters of the year, indicating ongoing progress despite global economic challenges.

Additionally, President Marcos Jr. has signed several laws aimed at reducing corporate income tax rates and providing additional incentives for qualified companies, encouraging foreign investment in the country. (JCO/PIA-NCR)
