Media practitioners across ASEAN explore innovations in digital journalism

Ten journalists from ASEAN Member States (AMS) and Timor-Leste took part in a 5-day intensive training on Social Media and Digital Journalism held from April 14 to 18, 2025 in Ankara, Türkiye. The program was jointly organized by the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) and the Turkish Radio and Television (TRT) Corporation.

Throughout the training, participants explored the evolving landscape of digital platforms, gaining insights into how to create, manage, and amplify content for diverse online audiences. They were also encouraged to share their personal experiences with social media use in their respective countries, fostering cross-cultural exchange and deeper understanding.

The training featured hands-on sessions on mobile journalism, where participants used their smartphones and editing apps to produce content tailored for social media.

Additionally, sessions on analytics and performance metrics helped them understand how to measure audience engagement and optimize content strategies.

Different resource persons from TRT Akademi provided in-depth training on digital content production, mobile journalism, and social media reporting.
