Mediamen laud Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas for strengthening gov’t-media ties

CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro (PIA) — Mediamen here lauded the holding of the Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas.

In the recently concluded assessment meeting between the media personalities and the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) MIMAROPA, media practitioners here highlighted the positive impact of the program, which is organized by the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) through the PIA.

Jake Ramirez, radio anchor of AR FM 98.1, expressed his gratitude for the opportunities the program has provided.

Jerry Alcayde, correspondent of Manila Bulletin and reporter of Radyo Natin-Calapan, also praised the initiative.

He acknowledged the significant role played by the Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas in bridging the gap between the government and the public.

Moreover, Alcayde hopes that the Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas will continue.

“Sana po ito ay magtuloy-tuloy next year at kahit sana pagkatapos ng term ni President Marcos ay magtuloy-tuloy ito,” he added.

Both Ramirez and Alcayde emphasized the role of media in facilitating communication between the government and the public, as they expressed hopes for the continued success of the Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas initiative.

Other mediamen, who are always joining the weekly Kapihan program, also commended the initiative of PCO and PIA, noting that it becomes the bridge of information from the government to the communities with the help of the media.

The Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas is attended physically by Oriental Mindoro-based journalists and joined via online by the media from the provinces of Occidental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan, whose questions are catered by the featured agency regional resource persons.
