CEBU CITY, Cebu (PIA) — Thirty MGB 7 employees successfully completed the three-day Standard First Aid (SFA) training that was recently held at Diamond Suites and Residences, Cebu City.
The SFA training aimed to equip MGB-7 employees with basic knowledge, skills, and confidence to respond effectively during emergencies both in and out of the office.
Given that many participants engage in field work including mining site visits, the training will help ensure their preparedness in various situations.
Additionally, the training enhanced participants’ understanding of First Aid legal implications, treatments, and medical emergency response.
During the activity, participants learned about first aid and common emergencies such as bleeding (closed wound and open wound), burns, head and spine injuries, fractures and dislocations, bone, joint, and muscle injuries, and heat-related emergencies.
They also learned various techniques for bandaging, splinting, lifting and moving patients, and patient assessment.
The training was facilitated by Course Manager Rafael Enriquez of Rapid (COO-Rapid Ambulance Service) along with Dr. Norhamidah M. Musa (Rapid Ambulance Service), registered nurses Mary Rose D. Calves (RHU-Consolacion) and Janice Sayloon Tomimbang who are all DOH-certified Standard First Aid trainers.
MGB-7 regional director Malicse said the SFA training is a crucial step in ensuring the safety and well-being of MGB-7 employees. (HFG/PIA-7 with reports from MGB-7)
