QUEZON CITY, Philippinse (PIA) — More than 46,000 minimum wage earners in the Mimaropa region are set to receive a salary increase next month in accordance with the new wage order issued by the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board.
According to the new directive, minimum wage earners in private offices will receive an additional P40. As a result, workers in establishments with nine or fewer employees will now receive P369, while those in establishments with ten or more employees will receive P395.
The order covers the provinces of Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and Palawan, including the cities of Calapan and Puerto Princesa.
The Department of Labor and Employment Mimaropa announced that the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board approved the order on October 24.
Meanwhile, domestic workers in the region will receive an additional P1,000 in salary. This increase will bring the salary of kasambahays to P5,500 next month.
