CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro (PIA) — The Mindoro State University (MinSU) has expanded its reach and strengthened its community engagement through the launch of “MinSU on AIR” (Accessible Information through Radio), a weekly radio program that highlights the university’s initiatives, achievements, and services.
Airing every Wednesday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on AR FM 98.1 and live on MinSU’s official Facebook page, the show carries the tagline “Tinig ng Kaalaman, Impormasyon at Inobasyon”, which aims to connect with communities across the province, especially in rural areas with limited internet access.
The pilot episode introduced Project MOSES- a collaborative initiative between MinSU and the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) MIMAROPA, which provides real-time weather data to strengthen local disaster preparedness and climate resilience.
MinSU President Dr. Enya Marie D. Apostol also graced the inaugural broadcast with her segment “Let’s Enj-gage: A Minute with President Enj,” where she emphasized the state university’s commitment to promote innovative and community-centered projects under the university’s LIFTMINSU initiatives, reaffirming the university’s role as a catalyst for regional development.
On the other hand, Dr. Jessie Rey B. Mangundayao, MinSU’s Admission Officer, provided comprehensive insights into the university’s admission process for incoming students. He detailed application guidelines, scholarship opportunities and the university’s commitment to foster accessible education for all.
Building on the success of its first two episodes, the third episode introduced the MinSU i-BIBES (Innovative Business Incubator for Biosystems Solutions), a pioneering program which supports local entrepreneurs and startups in developing biosystems-based solutions for agricultural and environmental challenges in the province.
Joshua A. Logmao and Engr. Randy A. Joco discussed how this platform serves as a launchpad for innovative ideas, offering mentorship, resources and business development support.
MinSU on AIR continues to strengthen its presence as a platform for knowledge sharing and collaboration where listeners can expect future episodes to cover more university-led projects, research breakthroughs and student achievements. (JRR-OJT/PIA MIMAROPA-Oriental Mindoro)
