OROQUIETA CITY, Misamis Occidental (PIA) — For the first time in the history of the Northern Mindanao Regional Athletic Association (NMRAA), Misamis Occidental emerged as the overall champion, raking in 94 gold, 77 silver, and 59 bronze medals.

The achievement was announced during a celebration at Bay Front Arena in Oroquieta City, led by Governor Henry S. Oaminal.

“This is not just a win in numbers—this is the spirit of One Asenso Misamis Occidental,” Oaminal said during the NMRAA 2025 Victory Party, attended by athletes, coaches, supporters, and local officials.

The province’s performance reflects continued investment in sports development through the 5Ms vision.

Supported by the Provincial Government, the Department of Education, coaches, and local communities, Misamisnon athletes demonstrated discipline, commitment, and focus throughout the competition.

Misamis Occidental will next compete in the 2025 Palarong Pambansa, aiming to build on this momentum. (LGU Ozamiz/PIA-10/Misamis Occidental)
