Misamis Oriental peaceful during May 12 election

MISAMIS ORIENTAL (PIA) — The Misamis Oriental Police Provincial Office (MOPPO) reported that the May 12, 2025 national and local elections in the province were conducted without major incidents.

Provincial Police Director Colonel Wilbur M. Salaguste credited this to the cooperation of residents. “Dako ang among pasalamat sa tanang katawhan sa inyong disiplina, kahusay ug kooperasyon. Wala kita’y nasinati nga dako nga insidente nga nakapugos sa proseso sa eleksyon, ug kini tungod sa inyong suporta ug kooperasyon.”

(I am thankful to the people for your discipline, order, and cooperation. We did not experience any big incidents that curtailed the election process, and this is through your support and cooperation.)

Salaguste said that the orderly conduct of the election was also due to the collaboration among the people, the Commission on Elections, the Armed Forces of the Philippines, and various government agencies.

The MOPPO remains vigilant and continues to monitor the province to maintain peace and order after the election.

Salaguste also encourages volunteers, barangay officials, and civic groups to remain active in monitoring and protecting their communities. (SAYU/PIA-10/Misamis Oriental)
