QUEZON CITY, (PIA) — Aimed at educating the public on proper waste management, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority’s (MMDA) Mobile Materials Recovery Facility rolled out its “Recyclables Mo, Palit-Grocery Ko” project in some parts of Metro Manila.
Sacks of recyclables were recently collected in Barangay 813, Brgy. 56 at 59, Juan Luna Cluster in Manila, Bgy. Tinajeros in Malabon City, and Barangay 128 in Pasay City.

A total of 755 kilos of recyclable materials such as glass, metal, and plastic bottles were collected in exchange for grocery items like noodles, canned goods, and cooking oil.
The project is one of the initiatives of MMDA under the Metro Manila Flood Management Project, which aims to educate the public on proper waste management and reducing solid waste in waterways. (JEG/PIA-NCR)
