DOLORES, Abra (PIA) — Learning about the night sky, stars, constellations and meteorites has been more immersive and exciting for Abrenian students with their first ever mobile planetarium experience.
More than 200 Abrenian students from multiple district schools joined the said activity at Rosalio Eduarte National High School (RENHS) at Talogtog, Dolores.
Here, they enjoyed various learning activities such as Digital Sky Experience, 3d Film Viewing, manipulative exhibits, and a rare experience of hands-on observation with authentic meteorite fragments.
This initiative through the partnership of the Department of Education with with private organization I-Experience, delivered more interactive and premium educational materials and activities that boost students’ intellectuality.
iExperience Specialist Abegail Indias said that the mobile planetarium brings in-depth detail with astronomy to teachers, students and parents.
“Expect po ng ating mga teachers, parents and students that they will be having an exploration of space and 14 science and technology gadgets that they can interact with. May dala din kaming mga fragments ng meteorites that they can come in contact with,” she said.
Bumagcat Elementary School student Zouie Aeon L. Ballena described the mobile planetarium as a rare experience for students like her who are living in the province.
“Magandang experience since walang masyadong ganito dito sa probinsya. Marami kaming natutunan especially sa sky experience,” she said.
The sky experience is one of the main highlights of the mobile planetarium. It provides an opportunity for students to grasp astronomical concepts through a 360-degrees interactive projector.
