Mobile super app for all gov’t services launched in Sorsogon

LEGAZPI CITY (PIA) –The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) launched Tuesday (June 18) the eGovPH Mobile Super App at Villa Isabel, Sorsogon City.

The eGovPH super application is a mobile app that makes government-to-people transactions easier. It serves as a one-stop online system that integrates various government sectors, both national and local.

It allows securing business permits, community tax, and civil registry to be accessed and processed.

The app, designed and developed by the DICT, aims to facilitate efficient and seamless government transactions using modern technology, particularly in rural areas. It is free on the Play Store and compatible with most Android phones.

One of its features is the eLGU (Electronic Local Government Unit) system, designed to help Local Government Units enhance their local governance system in line with the “Bayang Digital” vision, and to promote ease of doing business and efficient service delivery as mandated under Republic Act No. 11032, also known as the “Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act of 2018.”

During the launch, the DICT urged all local government units (LGUs) of Sorsogon to integrate their current processes into the eLGU system. By integrating their system with the eLGU, they are gradually advancing the electronic government (e-Government) system at the local level.

DICT Undersecretary for eGovernment, David Almirol Jr., emphasized his commitment to the project, saying, “On behalf of DICT nandito kami as your partner sa (we are here as your partner in) innovation para magbigay ng (to provide) total ease of doing business sa probinsya ng (in the province of) Sorsogon.”

On the other hand, DICT Undersecretary for Support Services Heherson Asidao acknowledged the support of LGUs, stating, “Halos lahat ng LGUs ay represented ngayon kaya masaya kami na lahat sila ay nagpaabot ng pasasalamat at suporta sa amin (Almost all LGUs are represented today so we are happy that they all extended their gratitude and support to us).”

DICT Regional Director Rachel Ann Grabador underscored the far-reaching benefits of these technological advancements, saying the launch of eGovPH app and eLGU system marks only the beginning of a journey to sustainable, resilient, and future-ready Sorsogon.

“Maligayang pagdating sa Srosogon, isang Bayang Digital para sa Bagong Pilipinas,” she said.  (PIA 5)
