MUNTINLUPA CITY, (PIA) — Residents of Barangay Alabang can look forward to a new and improved barangay hall, as the Department of Public Works and Highways National Capital Region (DPWH-NCR) has announced plans for the construction of a multi-purpose facility. This development aims to enhance community programs and activities in the area.
The Las Piñas Muntinlupa District Engineering Office will oversee the 459-square meter project, which is designed to serve as a hub for various local initiatives. According to DPWH-NCR, the new barangay hall will feature a library, an information desk, official member rooms, and a healthcare center. Additionally, the facility will incorporate architectural finishes, a closed-circuit television (CCTV) system, and essential utilities, including electrical power, water, and sanitary lines.
“This new barangay hall is not just a structure; it represents a commitment to improving the quality of life for our residents,” said a representative from DPWH-NCR. “It will provide a space for community gatherings and facilitate access to vital services.”
One of the significant aspects of the new facility is its dual purpose as an evacuation center during calamities and emergencies. This feature underscores the government’s proactive approach to disaster preparedness, ensuring that local residents have a safe refuge during times of crisis.
The construction of the barangay hall is part of a broader initiative to strengthen community infrastructure in Muntinlupa City, with an emphasis on accessibility and resilience. Local officials have expressed their support for the project, highlighting its potential to foster community engagement and improve service delivery.
Barangay officials are optimistic about the new development. “We are excited to see this project come to fruition. A modern barangay hall will not only enhance our services but also serve as a gathering place for residents to connect and collaborate,” according to a barangay official.
As the construction begins, the DPWH-NCR has assured residents that it will prioritize safety and efficiency throughout the building process. This project is expected to bring significant benefits to the community, making it a vital resource for current and future generations. (JEG/PIA-NCR)
