LAGAWE, Ifugao (PIA) — More than a thousand individuals in Ifugao benefitted from the programs and services of agencies in the “Handog ng Pangulo: Serbisyong Sapat para sa Lahat!” caravan held in two municipalities of the province on September 13, 2024.
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) provided more than P4.5 million to beneficiaries of the Ayuda sa Kapos and Kita Program (AKAP) during the activity at the municipal covered court in Alfonso Lista town.
A total of 913 AKAP beneficiaries from the towns of Alfonso Lista and Aguinaldo received P5,000.00 each. The funding was sourced out by the Congressional District Office implemented through the DSWD in the region.
AKAP provides financial aid to minimum wage earners falling under the low-income category, who are severely affected by rising inflation.
Meanwhile, around 500 beneficiaries at the Lagawe Central School Gymnasium availed of services of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and the Technical Education Skills and Development Authority (TESDA).
The DOLE released the wages of 204 beneficiaries of the Tulong Pang-hanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers. Some 176 incoming TUPAD beneficiaries were also oriented about the program and their responsibilities as workers of this temporary employment program for the informal sector. The office also awarded checks to 10 beneficiaries of the Government Internship Program.
The TESDA awarded to 86 scholars their training support fund allowance and tool kits as Special Training for Employment Program grantees.
STEP is a community-based specialty training program that addresses the specific skills needs of the communities and promote employment particularly through entrepreneurial, self-employment and service-oriented activities.
Governor Jerry Dalipog enjoined the beneficiaries of government services to value the importance of assistance.
“Take these assistance from the government, utilize it properly by investing in income generating activities to address some of your daily needs and improve your economic status in the future in line with the provincial government’s mission to ensure the wellbeing and happiness of every Ifugao,” he said.
Dalipog underscored that through the “Bagong Pilipinas” brand of governance of President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr., there will be more and enhanced delivery of government programs and services to the people.
The nationwide “Handog ng Pangulo: Serbisyong Sapat para sa Lahat!” caravan on Sept. 13 was part of the 67th birthday of Pres. Marcos. (JDP/MBL-PIA CAR, Ifugao)
