BANGUED, Abra (PIA) — A total of 2,400 students in Abra received P3,000 each in cash aid under the Ayuda para sa Kapos ang Kita Program (AKAP) of the government.
The recent distribution of AKAP assistance at the University of Abra -Bangued Campus focused on supporting senior high school students and parents or guardians who have senior high school children eligible to receive financial assistance.
Ronald Aguilar, a single parent from Lagayan town, expressed gratitude to the program and hopes that it will continue to help other parents and students.
“Mayat daytoy nga programa da ti DSWD (Department of Social Welfare and Development) ta adda manen nayon na ti pagalaan ti allowance dagiti annak ko, aglalo awan ni baket kon, dakkel a tulong kanyak daytoy three thousand,” he said.
[This program of the DSWD is good, it’s another source of allowance for the children especially that my wife is no longer around. The P3,000 financial assistance is a big help for me.]
The DSWD in partnership with the Office of Congresswoman Bernos led the AKAP payout on August 30, 2024.
During the aid distribution, Bernos ensured continuous support to Abrenian students and parents to encourage the youth to continue their education and pursue their goals.
“Namnamaen yo nga agtultuloy latta daytoy nga programa nga educational assistance. Next batch sabalinto manen ta tatta daytoy pay laeng ti maiikan. Kayat ko ket amin nga senior high school ket maikkan ditoy probinsya tayo nga Abra,” she stressed.
[Rest assured that the educational assistance program will be sustained. There will be next batch. I want that all senior high schools in Abra will benefit from this program.]
Submission of requirements for the AKAP specifically for qualified college students currently enrolled in the University of Abra and other private schools in Abra was opened on September 5 to 6, 2024.
