More than P78M worth of drugs seized, 29 arrested in CAR in March

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet (PIA) — The Police Regional Office in the  Cordillera Administrative Region (PRO CAR) achieved a significant impact in its anti-illegal drugs campaign in March.

PRO-CAR reported  law enforcement operatives seized more than P78 million-worth of illegal drugs and arrested 29 drug personalities from March 1 to 31, 2025 in various anti-drug operations.

A total of 102 anti-drug operations were conducted across the region that  include 75 marijuana eradications, nine buy-bust operations, eight search warrant operations, six warrants of arrest, and four police responses.

The intensified operations resulted in the confiscation of 110.29 grams of suspected shabu, 337,610 fully grown marijuana plants, 1,850 marijuana seedlings, and 71,016.13 grams of dried marijuana leaves, with a combined total Standard Drug Price (SDP) of P76,813,521.20.

There were also 29 drug personalities arrested with 11 identified as high value individuals and 18 as street level individuals.

The Benguet Police Provincial Office (PPO) scored the highest  illegal drug seizure  valued at P 42,122,080.00,  followed by the Kalinga PPO  which confiscated illegal drugs with an SDP of P33,160,200.00. The Mountain Province PPO seized illegal drugs worth P1,054,400.00.

PRO-CAR Regional Director PBGen. David Peredo Jr. commended the men and women of the Cordillera police force for their dedication to their duties and ensuring a safe and peaceful environment for the public.

“This month’s intensive campaign demonstrates PRO CAR’s unwavering resolve to dismantle drug networks and safeguard our communities. Our police officers’ dedication and relentless pursuit of justice have yielded significant results, disrupting the flow of illegal substances and holding those responsible accountable,” Peredo said.

Beyond law enforcement, PRO CAR also prioritizes community education, preventive initiatives, and rehabilitation programs in partnership with local organizations, striving for a safer and drug-free society. (RMC-PIA CAR)
