CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (PIA)–Two tourism-related infrastructure projects are currently underway in Misamis Oriental province, according to the Provincial Tourism Office.
Lawyer Jeffrey Saclot, the Provincial Tourism Officer, said the first two tourism infrastructure projects the province will undertake are the Agutayan White Island Redevelopment and Laguindingan Airport Kiosk, totaling P27.5 million.
He said the P25 million budget for the Agutayan White Island Redevelopment has already been approved by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan and its supporting papers are now awaiting submission to the province’s Bids and Awards Committee. The SP likewise approved the P2.5 million budget for the Laguindingan Airport Kiosk project.
Saclot said more tourism projects are in the pipeline, considering that the provincial government has earmarked P66 million for tourism-related projects.
The tourism officer further disclosed that the design and other supporting documents for the proposed Sagpulon Falls Redevelopment Project were submitted to Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia-Frasco during her recent visit to the province to attend the Misamis Oriental leg of the Dive NorthMin Festival.
He said the Sagpulon Falls Redevelopment is one of the priority projects recommended by the Provincial Tourism Council to the provincial government for implementation to boost the tourism sector of Misamis Oriental. (APB/PIA-10 Misamis Oriental)
