Mountain Province affirms commitment for safe and peaceful NLE

COMELEC, MPPPO and Election Officers during the signing of the Solidarity Pledge.

BONTOC, Mountain Province (PIA) – The Commission on Elections enjoined local candidates and all stakeholders to uphold the values of democracy as the country  holds the  2025 National and Local Elections (NLE) on May 12.

“Let our actions speak louder than words, let us show everyone that the heart of democracy  beats strong in Mountain Province. Together we shall prevail and together we shall succeed,” said  COMELEC – Mountain Province Provincial Election Supervisor Atty. Dexter Barry Cawis during the Solidarity Pact Signing for the 2025 National and Local Elections (NLE) on February 10 at the Bontoc Auditorium here.

The  solidarity pact signing  spearheaded by the Mountain Province Police Provincial Office(MPPO) started with an interfaith prayer led  by priests and pastors from  four religious sects.

Police Colonel Ferdinand Oydoc, MPPPO Provincial Director, emphasized that the signing of the solidarity pact demonstrates the strong commitment and unity of everybody to achieve a peaceful, safe and fair election for 2025.

“This signing is a demonstration of our strong commitment and unity. Tapnu maipakita tayu  nga kaya tayu nga maisayangkat ti napintas ken natalna nga election ita nga tawen,” he said.

The event was  attended by officials from law enforcement agencies, national government agencies, religious leaders and other stakeholders, who also signed the solidarity pledge in support for an  honest, safe and peaceful elections. (JDP/VJLT – PIA-CAR, Mountain Province)
