BONTOC, Mountain Province(PIA)–A Joint Oplan Greyhound conducted by the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology – Mountain Province, the Bontoc Municipal Police Station and the Bontoc Fire Station at the Mountain Province District Jail on January 18 yielded negative result for any illegal drugs.
PCpt. Francisca Ponso, Deputy chief of police for Administration of the Bontoc MPS, said that no contraband or any illegal drugs was found during the search inside the District Jail with 99 persons deprived of liberty(PDLs).
Oplan Greyhound is in support to the Department of the Interior and Local Government’s “Buhay Ingatan, Droga’y Ayawan” or BIDA program to clear out illegal drugs and any contraband inside the jails and to regularly or randomly subject PDLs and jail personnel to drug test to ensure drug-free facilities.
This is also in accord to the maintenance of the District Jail’s “Drug Cleared/Drug- Free Jail Facility” status as presented by the Regional Oversight Committee on February 13, 2019.
Ponso said it is a good thing if the Oplan Greyhound is conducted every month as proposed by the BJMP-Mt. Province. (JDP/VJLT-PIA CAR)
