MPSPC bags awards in CHED Gawad Parangal

BONTOC, Mountain Province (PIA) –The Mountain Province State Polytechnic (MPSPC) received various awards during the Commission on Higher Education(CHED Cordillera(CHED-CAR)  2022 Gawad Parangal and 2023 New Year’s Call held recently at Teng-ab Pastoral Complex in this capital town.

MPSPC  was awarded a certificate of recognition for exemplary performance in implementing CHED-funded projects for state colleges and universities to combat COVID-19 and for one of the SUCs with the highest number of researches published.

Conferred with plaques of recognition as Kabadang Research Awardees are Dr. Epiphania B. Magwilang, Dr. Lichelyn M. Nasungan. Dr. Willow F. Pangket and Dr. Elvin P. Rosario. Likewise, Dr. Mark Preston Lopez for being a Kabadang research mentor

Also  recognized  is  Majie Criss Kadatar, a  topnotcher  in  the  May 2022  nursing board examination.

Mountain Province Representative Maximo Y. Dalog Jr., represented by Erlindo Agwilang said the recognition of the institutions for implementing projects that combat Covid-19 shows the commitment of higher education institutions (HEIs) as a partner of the government in providing safe spaces for students and employees.

He added that producing competitive graduates in their fields of specialization is a mark of quality education and a show of competence of educators.

CHED-CAR Regional Director Dr. Demetrio P. Anduyan Jr. emphasized that ensuring quality higher education to be accessible to all who seek it particularly those who may not be able to afford it is an undying commitment that inspired the policies and thrust of the CHED.

“After all, it is our mission to put up an equitable, accessible and ensuring the quality and relevance of the HEIs and their programs. With this, your very own regional office, this Commission established its battle cry, CHED CARES,” he said.I

The event was attended by the different SUCs and private HEIs in the Cordillera region.

Meanwhile, a memorandum of understanding was signed by the participating SUCs in the region for the implementation of Project SAGIP (Scholars and Grant Beneficiaries’ Action Greening Initiatives Program). (JDP/CVBT-PIA CAR, Mt. Province)
