
QUEZON CITY, (PIA) –The City Government of Muntinlupa through its Disaster Resilience and Management Department conducted validation of its villages in search the most resilient barangay for this year.
The validation was conducted August 2-4 to determine which of the City’s nine (9) barangays will be recognized as the most resilient.
The search aims to encourage Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Councils to strengthen and expand the services of the local government in timely response when there are disaster or calamities.
Initial validators consist of representatives from Environmental Protection & Natural Resources Office (EPNRO), City Planning & Development Office (CPDO), City Accounting Office, Religious Sector, at Philippine Chamber of Commerce & Industry (PCCI).


Winners will receive the following: First Place –P200,000 plus gold plaque; Second Place – P100,000 plus silver plaque; and Third Place –P50,000 plus bronze plaque.
According to the City Government, the cash incentive that will be given to the winning barangays are intended for sole utilization on disaster risk reduction and management activities, programs, and projects.
Muntinlupa City Mayor Ruffy Biazon issued Executive Order No. 13, series of 2023 as the basis for the Search for Most Resilient Barangay, that was subsequently launched on June 15, 2023. (pia-ncr)
