Muntinlupa, Parañaque get recognized for outstanding nutrition programs

QUEZON CITY (PIA) — The local governments of Muntinlupa and Parañaque have been recognized for their outstanding performance in local nutrition programs during the 2024 National Nutrition Awarding Ceremony (NNAC) on March 7, 2025 at the Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria, Quezon City.

The NNAC is an annual event organized by the National Nutrition Council (NNC) to recognize local government units (LGUs) and local nutrition focal points (LNFPs) for their significant contributions to enhancing community nutrition and overall health.

Metro Manila excelled in the 2024 NNAC, with Parañaque and Muntinlupa leading the way in boosting nutrition programs. 

Muntinlupa City earned the First Year CROWN Maintenance Award for its effective nutrition programs, including dietary supplementation, feeding initiatives, nutrition augmentation, and a human milk bank.

Parañaque City received the CROWN Award for its sustained efforts in child nutrition, including livelihood support, feeding programs, milk code monitoring, and low child malnutrition rates.

Their accomplishments show the region’s commitment to improving community health through innovative and sustainable programs. These awards not only recognize the accomplishments of each city but also highlight Metro Manila’s dedication to mitigating malnutrition and advocating better nutrition for all. (GLDG/PIA-NCR)
