BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (PIA) – The Provincial Local Government Unit of Nueva Vizcaya is set to implement the “Driver’s License Mo, Sagut ni Gayyem ti Umili” program to ease the financial burden of youths securing driver’s licenses.
Governor Jose Gambito said the program is set to be rolled out to help the informal sector cope with the expensive cost of obtaining a driver’s license through the Land Transportation Office.
He said the PLGU will set aside P3.1 million as an initial fund to help about 1,000 drivers annually from various towns of the province.
The “Driver’s License Mo, Sagut ni Gayyem ti Umili,” program targets individuals who have already secured a student permit or a first-time license and need additional support to acquire a non-professional driver’s license, enabling them to use their driving skills as an additional source of income.
The program will cover all costs associated with the practical driving course, a mandatory requirement for obtaining a driver’s license including non-professional or professional license fees and the necessary medical certificate fees.
“Our goal is to implement innovative solutions that directly improve the quality of life of Novo Vizcayanos. Through this program, we are not only empowering them to earn additional income but also contributing to the economic vitality of our province,” Gambito said.
He said that by giving this program to the youth the licensing process will also enhance and improve their driving skills and road safety awareness which will further contribute to the reduction of road accidents. (OTB/BME/PIA NVizcaya)
