QUEZON CITY (PIA) — Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 has introduced a significant enhancement for its passengers by offering complimentary pure fiber wifi, with the recent launch of a free broadband program.
Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Jaime Bautista applauded the introduction of free wifi services at the airport, emphasizing the constructive impact on passengers and the overall airport experience.
Converge has activated more than 120 access points in the four-storey facility, extending free access in arrival and departure areas, including the waiting and retail areas. It can be accessed for 2 hours per day per passenger.
Bautista shared that Converge CEO and co-founder Dennis Uy, in fulfilling a commitment, had ensured this connectivity improvement and announced future plans to extend the free wifi service to NAIA Terminals 1 and 2 in the months ahead.
Recognizing the significance of improved connectivity, Secretary Bautista praised the initiative for elevating the airport’s global standards and expected it to be warmly received by the numerous passengers frequenting the facility.
Moreover, Secretary Bautista highlighted the broader advantages of public-private partnerships, pointing to the free wifi program as a model that directly benefits Filipinos. He encouraged the exploration of similar collaborations with private entities, not only to enhance airport services but also to upgrade rail lines, bus terminals, and seaports across the country.
