Navotas celebrates 119 years with ‘NavLevel Up!’ festivities

MANILA, (PIA) — Navotas City is celebrating its 119th anniversary with a series of vibrant activities from January 6 to 26, 2025, under the theme “NavLevel Up!” This initiative aims to enhance the city’s programs and services to better serve its residents.

Mayor John Rey Tiangco emphasized the importance of the theme, stating, “Ang ‘NavLevel Up!’ ay hindi lamang tema kundi isang panata natin na ipagpatuloy ang pag-angat ng ating lungsod. This year, we aim to further enhance the quality of life for every Navoteño by improving our programs and services in health, livelihood, education, and more.”

The festivities will kick off on January 6 with a Misa ng Pasasalamat at the Navotas Sports Complex, followed by a Medical Mission and Feeding Program organized by the Samahang Kristiyano ng Navotas at the City Hall Grounds.

The day’s events will conclude with the Pistang Kristyano, promoting faith and community bonding.

Key activities scheduled throughout the week include:

  • Zumba and Health Caravan (Jan. 7, 6 AM) at the Navotas Sports Complex
  • Araw ng Mangingisda (Jan. 8, 8 AM) at the FARMC Compound
  • Stakeholders’ Day (Jan. 8, 9 AM) at the Navotas Sports Complex
  • Simultaneous Clean-Up Activity (Jan. 10, 6 AM) across all barangays
  • Awarding of Top 20 Business and Realty Taxpayers (Jan. 10, 6 PM) at the Manila Hotel
  • Street Dance Competition and Launch of Additional NavoConnect Sites (Jan. 11, 5 AM) at R10
  • Navotas-wide Funbike (Jan. 12, 6 AM), starting from the Navotas Bus Terminal
  • Pangisdaan Boodlefight (Jan. 14, 10 AM) at the Navotas Fish Port
  • Ginuman Fest (Jan. 15, 5 PM) at Road 10

The celebration will also focus on livelihood and financial growth, featuring a Mega Job Fair (Jan. 9), Financial Literacy Seminar (Jan. 13), and the NavoBangka-Buhayan program (Jan. 15), where local fisherfolk will receive boats and fishing nets.

The festivities will culminate with a Grand Parade on January 16, followed by a citywide distribution of 5-kilo rice bags from January 18 to 26.
