Navotas holds mega job fair, distributes cash aid

QUEZON CITY, (PIA) — As part of its 17th cityhood anniversary celebration, the City Government of Navotas held events to offer job opportunities, support small businesses, and provide essential relief to those affected by calamities.

The Mega Job Fair, organized by the City Public Employment Service Office (PESO), featured 50 partner companies offering over 6,000 job opportunities across various industries.

More than 300 Navoteños applied for jobs, with 212 individuals getting hired on the spot during the event.

The activity also served as a one-stop-shop for those needing services from government agencies such as the Philippine Statistics Authority, Pag-IBIG, the Social Security System, and PhilHealth.

Meanwhile, some 250 families received financial aid to help them recover and rebuild after fire incidents in Brgys. San Roque, Navotas West, Bagumbayan North, and North Bay Boulevard North.

Furthermore, 120 Livelihood Package and 122 Tulong Puhunan grantees got financial support to boost their small businesses.

Mayor John Rey Tiangco reaffirmed the city’s dedication to continuous support for employment and livelihood assistance programs.

We are committed to creating opportunities for employment and livelihood for every Navoteño,” he said.

We also offer programs to enhance the knowledge and skills of our residents, ensuring they are well-equipped to thrive in their chosen fields and achieve their full potential,” he added.

Navotas, through the NavotaAs Hanapbuhay Center and PESO, regularly conducts NegoSeminars for Navoteños who want to start their own business and in-house job interviews, as well as pre-employment seminars for jobseekers. (JMP/PIA-NCR)
