Navotas officials inaugurate more pumping stations

QUEZON CITY, (PIA) — Mayor John Rey Tiangco and Representative Toby Tiangco led the blessing and inauguration of five additional pumping stations, new multi-purpose building, and an improved road as part of the 17th cityhood anniversary of Navotas.

Navotas now has 81 strategically located pumping stations across the city.

The new pumping stations are in Kanduli, Martiniko, Mamale Site 8, and Mamale Alley at Brgy. NBBS Dagat-dagatan and Takino St. at Brgy. Bangkulasi.

Mayor Tiangco emphasized the critical role of the new facilities in mitigating flood risks and ensuring the safety and well-being of the residents.

These pumping stations are crucial in our ongoing efforts to manage flooding. By enhancing our flood control measures, we are not only protecting our residents but also contributing to the development of our city,” he said.

We urge our fellow Navoteños to help us in taking care of these facilities. Keeping our surroundings clean and practicing responsible waste disposal are simple yet effective ways to ensure these stations function effectively,” he added.

Representative Tiangco echoed the Mayor’s sentiments, emphasizing the crucial role of community engagement in flood control initiatives.

Flood control is a shared community responsibility. While these pumping stations are integral to our infrastructure, their effectiveness hinges on collective action—ensuring their optimal function by refraining from littering and responsibly disposing of waste,” he said. (PIA-NCR)
