QUEZON CITY, (PIA) — The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) National Capital Region is urging the public to report crimes and enhance community safety through its newly established hotline numbers.
During the 19th edition of the Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas weekly media forum on October 1, NBI NCR Regional Director Rommel J. Vallejo emphasized the agency’s commitment to fighting crime and ensuring justice and said the public can reach the NBI NCR using the following hotline numbers:
Globe: 0966 547 3673
Smart: 0961 651 4469

“The National Bureau of Investigation is steadfast in its fight against criminality, corruption, and threats to our safety. We are here to help build a more peaceful and secure society,” Vallejo said.
The NBI plays a crucial role in complementing the efforts of the Philippine National Police (PNP), particularly in investigations. Vallejo reassured citizens that the NBI operates 24/7, with alert teams always ready to respond.
The NBI NCR chief emphasized the importance of public cooperation in crime prevention, stating that community support is vital in maintaining peace and order in the metropolis.
“Anytime you have concerns, feel free to approach the NBI. You can walk in at our headquarters in Quezon City (Maria Claria cor. Araneta Avenue) or the National Capital Region office in Manila (Taft Avenue),” he added.
The NBI’s modernization efforts, as outlined in Republic Act No. 10867 of 2016, focus on reorganizing and enhancing the agency’s capabilities to meet the growing demands of investigative work. This includes acquiring state-of-the-art investigative equipment, establishing scientific laboratories, and providing training for personnel.
As the NBI continues to adapt to evolving challenges, it seeks greater engagement with the public to foster a safer environment for all. (JEG/PIA-NCR)
