NBI brings services closer to Abra communities thru its new Clearance Center

LA PAZ, Abra (PIA) – Residents in the different municipalities of Abra need not to go outside the province to get clearance from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI)  following the inauguration and blessing of an NBI satellite office in Barangay Mudeng in this municipality.

League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP) National President La Paz Mayor JB Bernos, NBI ICTD Chief Marlou Baltazar, NBI-Vigan agent-in-charge Migdonio Congzon Jr.  led the ribbon cutting and inauguration recently.

Bernos  thanked partners and assured continuous support to the program that would make life easier for the people of Abra.

“Nagpapasalamat po kami sa NBI and all the support from the different local government units sa pagkakaroon ng Clearance Center. We only want to bring the services of the NBI in the province of Abra kasi hirap na hirap po ang mga tao,” he said.

Bernos  is the center’s first client who availed of an NBI clearance in less than an hour.

With a minimum fee of P135, locals and those from nearby provinces, can also process their NBI clearance, a document usually required when applying for employment, starting a business, and getting other government-issued IDs, among others.

This Clearance Center  in the province is more convenient, saving time and money for Abrenians who used to travel to Vigan in Ilocos Sur or San Fernando in La Union to avail of essential NBI services.

NBI Information Communications Technology Division Chief Marlou Baltazar shared that the newly opened satellite office is the 148th clearance center nationwide.

“We were talking about establishing this satellite office as a district office ng Abra, hindi lang clearance but pati investigative lalong-lalo na next year ay may pondo na para sa mga agents na magte-training,” Baltazar said.
