CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro (PIA) — The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) MIMAROPA has committed to speed up the processing and release of clearances.
During the Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas of the Philippine Information Agency on October 1, NBI MIMAROPA Regional Director Gelacio Bongngat said that he had already directed their staff to release the requested NBI clearance immediately.
He said that in less than a minute, the request for an NBI clearance will be processed and can be released in five minutes.
In instances, however, where the name of the applicant is in the “Hit” list, meaning the person has the same name as another person, the NBI clearance will be released in two days instead of five to seven days, he said.
“Kung nakitaan naman ang aplikante na mayroong itong dating kaso, kailangan pumunta sa korte, kung saan ito dininig at humingi ng sertipikasyon mula sa huwes na ito ay nadismiss na,” Bongngat said, adding that this will also fasten the processing and release of the NBI clearance.
(If the applicant has a previous case, he must go to the court where the case was filed and ask for a certification from the judge that it was already dismissed.)
To ensure also for faster processing of the requested document, Bongngat said that some steps can already be done online by the requesting party or they can directly visit their office to seek assistance.
“Una, pumunta sa anumang tanggapan ng NBI para mag-register online ng libre kasabay ng pagpasa ng aplikasyon o maaaring i-download ang NBI app gamit ang inyong cellphone o computer, at pagkatapos ay sagutan ang mga tanong para mabilis ang pag-proseso ng aplikasyon,” he said.
(First, go directly to any NBI office to avail the free online registration that will serve as your application or you may use your cellular phone or computer and download the NBI app, then fill it up and you will be given a reference number for the immediate processing of your application.)
Bongngat said they are also fast-tracking the establishment of a satellite office in Marinduque, San Agustin town in Romblon, and San Jose town in Occidental Mindoro so that it will be easier for the transacting residents to avail of their services such as securing NBI clearance and even in the filing complaints with the agency.
He cited the importance of NBI clearance which is a requirement in securing a passport and visa, as well as for first-time job seekers and those who are applying for work abroad.
He also discouraged the public from engaging the services of a “fixer” to get rid of additional expenses as an NBI clearance fee is only P135 and the process of securing such documents with their office is easy. (DN/PIA MIMAROPA-Oriental Mindoro)
