QUEZON CITY, (PIA) — The National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) is inviting aspiring artists to apply for grants aimed at supporting contemporary arts, as announced by Arvin Miguel Villalon, Commissioner of the Subcommission on the Arts, on Monday.
During the Impormasyon at Aksyon teleradyo program, Villalon highlighted the initiative designed to assist artists in creating their masterpieces and engaging in various artistic activities.
“We encourage those interested in the arts to seek funding from the NCCA for their projects,” he said in Filipino, listing seven eligible art forms: architecture/allied arts, film, dance, visual arts, literature, theater, and music.
In its official website, the NCCA said the projects are presented per National Committee under the four (4) Subcommissions:
- Subcommission on the Arts (SCA);
- Subcommission on Cultural Communities and Traditional Arts (SCCTA);
- Subcommission on Cultural Dissemination (SCD); and
- Subcommission on Cultural Heritage (SCH).

The NCCA’s call for grants provides both aspiring and established artists with opportunities to develop their craft, share unique perspectives, and contribute to the Philippines’ rich artistic landscape.
Villalon emphasized that this initiative aims to strengthen national identity and inspire future generations to appreciate and engage in creative endeavors.
“This February, we celebrate the innate talent and skill of Filipinos in the arts, which shapes our identity and love for our heritage,” he said.
“The value of art is tied to our identity as Filipinos, and we must share this pride with the world,” he added.
