MANILA, (PIA) — The Association of Information Officers in Metro Manila (AIMM) on Tuesday, December 5, will meet to discuss the effectiveness of the “Bagong Pilipinas” (new Philippines) brand of governance in the National Capital Region, since its launch in July this year.

Organized by the Philippine Information Agency – National Capital Region (PIA-NCR), the event will be a platform for communication professionals to celebrate their collective impact and foster a collaborative spirit within the region’s dynamic information landscape.

The AIMM members will also hold its fourth quarter full membership meeting, marking a significant occasion to reflect on the year’s achievements, strengthen relationships, and chart the course for future endeavors,” said PIA-NCR director Emver Cortez.

Founded in 1997 by PIA-NCR, AIMM has established itself as a vital force in connecting information officers across various sectors. With a diverse membership of over 100 communication specialists, public relations officers, media liaisons, and others, the association has championed excellence in information dissemination throughout Metro Manila.

This gathering is not just about reporting achievements; it’s about celebrating the power of collective action,” AIMM president and Department of Budget and Management Undersecretary Goddes Hope Libiran said.

We’ve seen remarkable communication campaigns, innovative strategies, and impactful initiatives that have truly made a difference. Now, we come together to share, learn, and inspire each other for what’s to come,” Libiran added.

The group will also share successful communication campaigns, innovative strategies, and impactful initiatives that have positively influenced their organizations and communities.

Set to grace the event are Metropolitan Manila Development Authority Chairperson Romando Artes, PIA Director-General Jose Tores, Jr., and PIA Deputy Director-General for Regional Operations Adolfo Ares Gutierrez.

It can be recalled that President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. directed the adoption of the Bagong Pilipinas governance brand as an effort to steer the Philippines to greater, more principled heights.

As per Memorandum Circular No. 24, signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin on July 3 and recently published on the Official Gazette website, “all national government agencies (NGAs) and instrumentalities, including government-owned or -controlled corporations (GOCCs), and state universities and colleges (SUCs), are mandated to align their programs, activities, and projects with the principles, strategies, and objectives of the Bagong Pilipinas brand of governance and leadership.”

The recently introduced governance brand is characterized by a commitment to a “principled, accountable, and dependable government strengthened by cohesive societal institutions, all working towards the realization of the goals and aspirations of every Filipino,” as outlined in the document.

Bagong Pilipinas serves as the overarching theme for the administration’s governance and leadership approach, advocating for significant and essential transformations across all sectors of society and government. It underscores the state’s dedication to achieving comprehensive policy reforms and complete economic recovery,” the circular stated. (PIA-NCR)
