QUEZON CITY, (PIA) — The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) lauded the Manila local government unit and the Anti-Cybercrime Group of the Philippine National Police (PNP) for taking down a scam hub in Manila.

NCRPO chief Police Major General Sidney S. Hernia extended its gratitude to the City Government of Manila and Mayor Honey Lacuna for their support and cooperation in a successful joint operation with the PNP’s Anti-Cybercrime Group.

The collaborative effort led to the recent dismantling of a Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) scam hub in Adriatico, Manila, marking a major milestone in the NCRPO’s fight against organized crime.

Hernia emphasized the NCRPO’s ongoing commitment to its advocacy, “Sa Bagong Pilipinas, ang gusto ng Pulis, Ligtas Ka,” affirming that these enhanced actions align with the NCRPO’s broader mission to protect communities from organized crime and ensure the safety of all residents in the metropolis.

Likewise, PNP chief General Rommel Francisco D. Marbil lauded the successful operation that dismantled the so-called “Mother of All Scam Hubs.”

Marbil emphasized the PNP’s commitment to intensifying its campaign, in collaboration with the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), to eradicate all illegal POGOs within the next two months, following the directive of President Ferdinand R Marcos, Jr.

Meanwhile, supporting these efforts, the NCRPO encourages the public to download and use the PNP’s Law Enforcement Reporting Information System (LERIS) app—a digital tool that is used for real-time crime reporting and immediate response from police officers.

The app, which is available at the Google Play Store, enables law enforcement units to efficiently manage information, monitor criminal activities, and respond swiftly to threats, underscoring NCRPO’s dedication to advancing public safety and strengthening security across Metro Manila.
