TAGUIG CITY, (PIA) — The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) welcomed its new chief, PMGen Sidney Sultan Hernia, replacing PMGen Jose Melencio C. Nartatez.
Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Police General Rommel Francisco D. Marbil led the turnover ceremony on Wednesday at the Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig City
“PMGen Nartatez leaves behind a legacy of outstanding leadership. I am confident that PMGen Hernia will continue this tradition of excellence, ensuring the safety and security of every citizen in Metro Manila,” said General Marbil.
Marbil also noted Nartatez’s peace and order initiatives, bolstering the fight against illegal drugs in Metro Manila.

Nartatez expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to lead the NCRPO, highlighting the significant accomplishments achieved during his 15-month tenure including the successful resolution of pending cases, intensified anti-criminality efforts, and improved operational efficiency.
He also expressed his full support to the new NCRPO chief and urged them to continue their dedication to public service under new leadership.
Likewise, the new NCRPO chief, Hernia, expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the trust and confidence placed in him as he assumed the role of Regional Director of the NCRPO. He also congratulated and recognized the foundation laid by PMGen Nartatez for Metro Manila.
“I came to realize the importance of continuity. Therefore, I will continue the existing programs projects and innovations. If there are part of it that needs to adjust we will make necessary arrangements,” he said.
