BORONGAN CITY (PIA) — A total of 374,574 individuals in Eastern Samar have successfully registered for their Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) identification cards — 197,081 in 2021 and 177,493 in 2022.
According to Chief Statistical Specialist Ronnie Bajado of the Philippine Statistics Authority – Eastern Samar Field Office, the figure is 100.22% of the workload target of 373,753 to be registered before year-end (2022).
As to age, 28% of those who registered belong to the 5-14 age group, 60% are 15-59 years old, and 12% are 60 years old and above.
Bajado informed the public that registration has continued and has been conducted by the personnel of PSA in their fixed registration sites in the different municipalities through their Mobile Registration in the different barangays and schools in Easten Samar.
Meanwhile, Bajado said the PhilSys IDs are already available and that the Post Office had already delivered 21,039 PhilSys ID or 64% accomplishment, 12,030 PhilSys IDs are still to be delivered or 36%, while eight (8) PhilSys IDs are “returned to sender” which is in the PSA Office to be claimed.
Bajado disclosed that the PhilSys ID that are not received by the persons concerned in three consecutive attempts by the Postmaster, the said ID after one month will be returned to PSA-E. Samar Field Office.
Bajado further said that if in case the said ID was not claimed personally by the claimant, the PhilSys ID will be stored for two months in the PSA office, if ever there is no claimant, the said ID will be returned to PSA-Central Office, Manila. (MMP/SDC/PIA E. Samar)
