Filipinnovation Awards 2025 is funded under Republic Act 11293 or the Philippine Innovation Act (PIA), which establishes an innovation fund that strengthens entrepreneurship and enterprises engaged in developing innovative solutions benefiting the poorest of the poor.

This also provides grants to National Government Agencies (NGA), Government Owned Corporations (GOCCs), Local Government Units (LGUs), and State Universities and Colleges (SUCs).

The participants must provide goods or services with an eligibility of 100 percent Filipino-owned, Department of Trade and Industry or Securities and Exchange Commission registration (if applicable), and early-stage commercialization.

The conduct of the Filipinnovation Awards was approved by the National Innovation Council (NIC) on Feb. 8, 2024, through NIC Resolution No. 1, series of 2024.

This is to showcase Filipino innovators who are prepared for early-stage commercialization, and encourage stakeholders to actively participate in innovation, not only to demonstrate their capabilities and achievements but also to make significant contributions to the national agenda of fostering a culture of innovation.

Deadline of submission of entries is on March 20, 2025. (ZCL/PIA7 Cebu)
