NEGROS OCCIDENTAL (PIA) – – Days prior to the Office of the President’s 30-day deadline to distribute the Presidential Assistance for Farmers, Fisherfolk and Families (PAFFF), the provincial government of Negros Occidental completed the distribution of P10,000 each for 5,000 beneficiaries amounting to P50-million.
Negros Occidental is also the first province in the region to begin the distribution which started on July 17 in the First District with 1,243 beneficiaries.
Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson told beneficiaries during a distribution that the province need not seek for an extension of the deadline since it wanted to ensure that it is met and that the farmers and fisherfolk will receive the assistance from President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., immediately.
“Sa akon mga pinalangga nga mangingisda kag mangunguma kag sang inyo mga pamilya, bilang inyo gobernador, naga upod ako sa inyo sa pagpasalamat sa aton pinalangga nga Presidente Bongbong Marcos, upod sa iya ti-ayun ang aton First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos. Sa ila wala untat nga pag-ulikid kag pagbulig sa mga pagpanghangkat nga gina atubang sang aton probinsya,” Lacson said.

For the Second District, 136 beneficiaries were identified; Third District with 472 beneficiaries; Fourth District with 535 beneficiaries; Fifth District with 729 and Sixth District with 1,885 beneficiaries.
Nenita Flores from Cadiz City said that this is the first time that she was able to get assistance from the Office of the President.
“Makabulig in isa amon pagpanguma sang humay. Kay ang amon humay na apektuhan gid sang tuman ka init, gani gamay kaayu amon patubas. Nagapasalamat gid ko sa assistance halin kay Presidente Bongbong Marcos kay maka bulig gid ini sa amon panguma,” Flores added.
(This will be a big help in our rice farm. Our rice production was very much affected by the dry season, that is why we have low yield. I am thankful for the assistance from President Bongbong Marcos as this will help us a lot in our farm.)
Lacson added that the President knew that aside from the national government’s assistance to the province, more help is needed by the farmers and fisherfolk.
“Kinahanglan natun sang ila bulig para ma lampasan natun ang tuman nga halit nga dala sang El Nino kag kabay ang bulig sini paka mayuhon Ninyo,” Lacson told the beneficiaries in his various sorties distributing the PAFFF.
